Introduction

Our Certificate in English as a Foreign Language emphasis students’ development of the four major components in the English Language: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Our classroom based methods are meticulously developed to encourage in its students’ the ability for independent and thinking in English by imparting to our students visual and audio skills. The entire course has 3 levels.

Certificate in English as Foreign Language (Intermediate)

Course Aim

This course is aimed at educating learners who have completed the Certificate in Intensive English Conversation course(s) with us or those who are able to speak, read and write Basic English. This course guides learners into more topics in grammar as compared to what is taught in the Basic course. This course does grammar topics such as superlatives, comparatives and imperatives, just to name a few. This is done through topics that are relevant to the learners and is useful for their daily lives. The objective of this course is met through the textbook, a workbook and a set of CDs that will assist them in their listening, reading and pronunciation skills. At the end of the course, each learner will be able to communicate, speak and write, equivalent to the standard of an upper primary student in Singapore. This course will include two tests and an examination.

This course is ideal for any foreign or local individual who has basic written and spoken knowledge of English Language.

Intake

We have classes running throughout the year. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to students who have successfully passed the module and achieved at least 90% of class attendance.

Certificate in English as Foreign Language (Upper-Intermediate)

Course Aim

This course is aimed at educating learners’ who have completed the Certificate in English as Foreign Language (Intermediate). Alternatively, they must be able to pass a test that we give them in order to be admitted into the Upper-Intermediate Course. At the end of this course, each learner will be able to put to use what they have learnt, as this course will enable them to develop real-life communicative skills and the ability to express themselves better. The objective of the course is met through the use of a textbook. Learners’ are further aided through the use of the workbook to learn and better retain what have been taught. Each learner’s listening, reading and pronunciation skills will be assisted through the use of the CD during lessons. At the end of the course, the learner should be able to communicate, speak and write, equivalent to the level of lower secondary student in Singapore.

This course will include two tests and an examination.

Certificate in English as Foreign Language (Advanced)

Course Aim

This course is aimed at educating learners’ who have completed the Certificate in English as Foreign Language (Upper-Intermediate). Alternatively, they must be able to pass a test that we give them in order to be admitted into this Course. At the end of this course, each learner will be able to organise and develop their knowledge of grammar, and series of speaking tasks which are challenging, and focuses on each learners’ to take charge of interactions. In addition, this course will enable learners’ to build a bigger and better active vocabulary. The objective of the Advanced Course is met through a textbook. The workbook used will aid learners’ to reinforce what they have learnt in the classroom. The CD used in during lessons will assist each learner in his/her listening, reading and pronunciation skills. At the end of this course, each learner should be able to communicate, speak and write equivalent to Secondary 3 students in Singapore.

This course will include two tests and an examination.
